FLSA – Fair Labor Standards Act in Oklahoma

The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (FLSA, Pub.L. 75-718; ch. 676, 52 Stat. 1060, June 25, 1938, 29 U.S.C. ch.8) is the federal law that governs overtime compensation and sets the federal minimum wage. Under FLSA, employers must pay overtime compensation to non-exempt employees for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) in one workweek. Exceptions from overtime compensation requirements exist for certain jobs. The Wage and Hour Division of the United States Department of Labor (DOL) enforces this law.
